In Memoriam
"For Those We Love, For Those We've Lost"
Kidz 4 A Cure exists because of love. Two young lives — too brief, too bright — inspired a mission that has touched hundreds of children over two decades. This page is dedicated to honoring them.
Kimberly Johnson
1992 — 2000 · Age 8
Kimberly was adopted by Lorraine Cram — and she was, by every account, a child full of life, laughter, and a spirit too big for her small frame. She loved the holidays. She loved being celebrated.
In 2000, Kimberly lost her battle with HIV/AIDS at the age of eight years old. Her passing left a void that no words could fill. But it also left behind something else: a profound question that Lorraine refused to let go unanswered.
What if every child like Kimberly — every child navigating illness, hardship, and uncertainty — could feel, at least once a year, exactly how loved and valued they truly are?
Kidz 4 A Cure is Lorraine's answer to that question. Kimberly's name, and her memory, travels in every gift given, every wish fulfilled, every child told: "You matter."
Ceyra
Passed 2010
Lorraine's second adopted daughter, Ceyra, passed away in 2010. Like Kimberly before her, Ceyra's life was full of love — and far too short.
After Ceyra's passing, Lorraine added her name to the Kidz 4 A Cure team shirts. Side by side — Kimberly and Ceyra — their names have been carried on every AIDS Walk, at every Operation: Holiday Cheer, with every gift wrapped and delivered.
Their stories are the reason this organization exists. Their spirits are woven into every act of service K4AC performs. Every child who receives a gift in their honor carries a piece of their legacy forward.
Their names travel with us. Their love is the foundation of everything we build.
When a child receives a gift through Operation: Holiday Cheer, they are receiving something that Kimberly and Ceyra's memory made possible. They are part of a legacy of love that grows every single year.
