About Kidz 4 A Cure
Born from love, loss, and an unwavering belief that every child deserves to feel celebrated.
Where It All Began
A story of love that refused to be silenced.
Kidz 4 A Cure began not in a boardroom, but in a heart broken open by grief and held together by love.
In 2002, Lorraine Cram founded a walk team to participate in the annual AIDS Walk — a simple act of solidarity in honor of her adopted daughter, Kimberly Johnson, who had lost her battle to HIV/AIDS in 2000 at just eight years old.
Kimberly's story was brief, but her spirit was enormous. She deserved more years, more holidays, more mornings. Lorraine channeled that grief into action — and Kidz 4 A Cure became her way of making sure other children like Kimberly would feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
In 2010, Lorraine added her second adopted daughter, Ceyra — who also passed that same year — to the team's shirts. Their names travel with every step taken, every gift wrapped, every child celebrated.
What began as a walk team grew into a movement. In 2015, Kidz 4 A Cure was formally incorporated as a nonprofit organization — a testament to years of community trust, grassroots effort, and relentless love.
Lorraine's adopted daughter Kimberly passes away at age 8, after her battle with HIV/AIDS. Her memory becomes the seed of something greater.
Lorraine founds a team to participate in the AIDS Walk — a personal tribute that begins to grow into a community.
Lorraine's second adopted daughter Ceyra passes away. Her name joins Kimberly's on the team shirts, carried with every step.
Kidz 4 A Cure becomes a fully incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formalizing years of community-driven impact.
Serving 200+ children annually, raising funds for AIDS research, and expanding Operation: Holiday Cheer each year.
